Was denied access at 10pm on Feb 16th...even though I had accreditation and affiliation with a major U.S. TV network. I had attended in Athens, Torino & Beijing with this same accreditation, and even wore a souvenir Oranje Heineken House T-shirt (that I paid $30 for in Beijing). When I explained this and showed the doorman my accreditation & shirt, he snipped at me "This is Vancouver, not Beijing". Sadly the Dutch are not being as freindly and welcoming as they have been in the past...

I was at the Heineken House last night when Mark Tuitert won Gold. The place was unbelievable. So many great fans from the Netherlands. Here are some photos from the day.

AVOID this ripoff!! Heinikin House charges 4.50 for barely half a pint which they don't even fill up to the line("We've been pouring beer for a thousand years and you need oxygenation at the top for a good taste" -- in other words, the top quarter of your tiny non-pint is all foam.) You get to line up three times for this grand privilege, the last line up being a good 40 minutes to 'redeem' a 'debit' card of $5. Another transparent cash grab as many people will not wait that long in yet another lineup to get their $5 back.

RUDE, RIDICULOUS, RIPOFF!!
